    BBRC | BYRON BAY

    TRACK REFURBISHMENT

  •

"What is claimed to be the world's first fully solar-powered train is operating on the New South Wales North Coast.

A refurbished 70-year-old 'red rattler' is running on a three-kilometre stretch of disused rail line at the popular tourist destination of Byron Bay."

The Taylor Rail crew had a unique experience working for Byron Bay Railroad Company. The track between Casino and Murwillumbah had been disused for 13 years, the line being closed in 2004, citing low passenger numbers. Our crew completed works of refurbishing the 3000m stretch between Casino and Murwillumbah, which included a bridge.
