Dry Creek Track Lowering
Dry Creek Track Lowering
Critical 10-day track possession
Taylor Rail has commenced the critical 10-day track possession on the Dry Creek Track Lowering Project, with more than 100 people working around the clock to lower the rail corridor beneath the Port Wakefield Road Bridge. Over the 10-day period, the team will remove and replace three turnouts, construct over 700 metres of new track, complete more than 5,500m³ of excavation and install approximately 6,500 tonnes of earthworks material.

The possession follows months of planning, engineering and enabling works, with our teams and project partners working together to safely deliver a complex scope within a tightly coordinated program.
Once complete, the lowered track will provide the necessary clearance beneath the Port Wakefield Road Bridge to enable double-stacked container trains to move between Aurizon's north and south yards at the Dry Creek Rail Terminal.
