RMIT Engineering Seminars - Taylor Rail Connects with Graduates

Taylor Rail connects with graduates, describing a typical day in the life of a rail engineer.

Taylor Rail was pleased to attend and present at the RMIT Engineering Seminar Series on 14 May 2025 at RMIT’s Melbourne campus, hosted by the RMIT’s Association of Chemical Engineering Students (ACES). The presenters included James Porteous (Taylor Rail’s Senior Project Engineer) who provided an insight to the specialised construction methods and plant required to construct and maintain track across the Australian network and Shani Abrahams (Taylor Rail’s Project Engineer) who showcased our current and previously completed rail projects and described a typical “day in the life” of a rail engineer.

Taylor Rail believes that connecting with students and future employees of the industry is integral to giving back to the community that we are a part of. The RMIT students were engaged and showed an enthusiasm to learn more about the career paths available within the rail industry within the question time at the completion of the presentation. Taylor Rail congratulates RMIT ACES for organising the Engineering Seminars to provide their graduates with valuable insights into the varied and rewarding industry of Engineering.
